Tutorial on Simple Flower Bud
How to make a very simple easy flower bud:
Glass: Basic green for your barrel
Color for your petals [I am using yellow]
Pulled cane in greens
(1) Make a small barrel on your mandrel - about 10-12 mm long
(2) The top of your flower will be at the end of the mandrel
(3) Take your cane and put 3 or 4 stripes down the barrel from the end to about half way down the barrel - melt in and marver. You can allow the stripes to wiggle as you marver.
(4) Take your petal color - heat a ball on the end of the rod - touch 3/4 down from the end of the mandrel and swipe to the top turning the mandrel slightly so that the swipe of color is sort of wrapping around the barrel as you put it on.
(5) Now - heat this petal you just put on and then slide it across your marver [my marver is on my torch]. This flattens the petal as well as spreads it on the barrel - do not melt it in just flatten it. Repeat this around the barrel so you have 3 or 4 petals that overlap each other.
(6) Heat the end of the flower [end furthest from the end of the mandrel] and roll it on your marver making the bud more cone shaped then barrel.
(7) The end of your flower bud should still be raised.
(8) Use the cane to apply little leaves at the bottom of your bud.

Step 1 - simple barrel

Step 3 - Use your cane to make 3-4 swipes - melt in and marver

Step 4 - When you lay on your petal color do it at an angle

Step 5 - heat the petal and roll it on the marver making sure
the bottom of the petal is melted into the barrel but not the top

The petals should overlap.

Heat the bottom of the bud and roll on the marver
to form a cone shaped bead

finally use your cane or any green to make
vines and little leaves
